letters you said it We always love to hear from our sisters, but we were struck by how many non-DGs read and enjoyed the last issue! See what they thought about Delta Gamma and our online magazine (and check it out for yourself at www.deltagamma.org). Thanks in advance for taking a moment to tell us what you think of this issue. We value your feedback! E-mail us at anchora@deltagamma.org. Going (and Reading) Green After looking at the online ANCHORA, all I can say is Wow! Your online magazine is easy to navigate, easy to read and well presented. And the sound of the pages turning isn’t bad either! Offering your members a new way to keep connected with Delta Gamma and helping to save the earth’s precious resources is a win-win for everyone. Ruth Goodman Editor, The Quill of Alpha Xi Delta Love the idea of going green with the online magazine. This is all I need! Thanks very much. Justine Bookin, Gamma Kappa-UC, Santa Barbara Perfect Web experience! Thank you. The online ANCHORA is perfect! Laurel Troner, Epsilon Beta-Bucknell I enjoyed having the ANCHORA online. I’m all in favor of saving the paper and postage! One thing I would like to see is a “full screen” option. I’m old and can’t read the little tiny words. Having a full That “Do Good” Spirit Our ANCHORA is always wonderful, but I especially appreciated all the pictures and achievements highlighted in this issue! Using the zoom function wasn’t much help since you only see an eighth of a page at a time. Your successful adventure is inspiring. DG’s online ANCHORA is also impressive. It was so easy to navigate. But I am like your sisters quoted in the letters to the editor Section who said they still prefer to read the hard copy. Still, how great it is to be able to forward an issue or article via e-mail to someone else who might be interested! It’s exactly what I am going to do right now: forward your article to all the members of our Heritage Committee. I know they’ll be equally fascinated and applaud your committee’s efforts.

Mary Edith Arnold, Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity Archivist Staying Connected (Better Now?)

I so enjoyed this issue on “staying connected.†You did a wonderful job on the subject of sisters staying in touch, especially those who leave to study abroad (“On Campus,†pp. 30-39). The report from Beta Zeta was very meaningful for me. I am so glad the sisters work so hard to maintain contact with those all over the world, sending care packages and having a special dinner to share their experiences. I
And non-DGs alike delighted in reading about how our archives committee members reconnected with seven “lost†former Fraternity Presidents (far left). Readers also enjoyed firsthand accounts from collegians who took their DG experience abroad (left).

Felt like a stranger when I returned after a year of study in Paris with the Sweet Briar College group, 1954-55. Collegians today should be proud of their special and meaningful ways of sharing.

Nancy Wilkins Klein, Beta Zeta-Denison Keeping You Informed My Anchora arrived yesterday full of good news. I’ll look forward to more editions. As a past president of Beta Beta chapter at the University of Alberta, I always read the Anchora with interest, and enjoy seeing news of the continuing development of the Fraternity. Keep up the good work there.

Betty Gourlay, Beta Beta-Alberta I have really enjoyed the summer issue.

Thanks for all you do for our Fraternity.

Eleanor Wagner Cary, Alpha Rho-Ohio Wesleyan Anchored to Our Sisterhood “Anchored by a Chain of Love†(pp. 6-7) brought a smile to my face. In 1998, while I was in college, I wrote a very similar story for the ANCHORA about a group of women from my beloved Delta Epsilon chapter and their dedication to one another through a “round robin†chain letter, begun in the 1950s. While my friends and I now rely on Facebook© to share updates and photos, I hope the women of Alpha Theta chapter find inspiration in knowing that the women I featured in that story kept their letter going for six decades!

Sarah Leer Frey, Delta Epsilon-University of the Pacific I was so delighted to see the photo of my pledge sisters and me in the summer issue!

When I opened the magazine I thought, “Oh, my gosh! I know those faces!†I remember the time so fondly. I have the enjoyment of regular reunions with Shirley Jones Bowors. It brought a smile to my face to relive those times!

Barbara Rockwell Bauer, Alpha Theta-North Dakota All in Due Time Your ad in the ANCHORA regarding dues inspired me to renew my commitment to Delta Gamma. Good work and thank you.

Marily Channing Fassett, Gamma Kappa-UC, Santa Barbara Editor: Inspired by Marily? Flip back a page!
We need you!

Can you help us with an upcoming issue?

Here’s what we’re planning:

• cool jobs You’ve got sisters on the small screen and several in all levels of government! Can you name them? Tell us about others who have enviable jobs or businesses. We know they’re out there, but we need your help to find them!

• sisters to the rescue Dgs saved the day!

Tell us about it! See p. 17 for more.

E-mail anchora@deltagamma.org.
On campus Next issue will have collegiate updates, but try including a vendor, resource, fundraiser, event theme etc. to give other chapters ideas!

• green tips Do you have a tip, advice, store or Web site that helps you live greener? Share with your sisters. And check out pp. 12-13 for more.
