2007 Zeta Psi International Convention Zeta Psi Fraternity of North America & the Zeta Psi Educational Foundation 160th Annual Convention - Lincoln, NE August 15 to 18, 2007 Dear Brothers and Guests, NOW is the time to save the date and plan to attend our 160th annual convention, for August 15-18, 2007 in Lincoln, Nebraska. The early registration convention fee is a value at $295 per person ($335 CDN) and the higher quality Embassy Suites hotel is affordable at $114 per night. Suites can hold four and includes* breakfast and a manager’s reception in the early evening! Rooms can be booked at www.embassysuites.com! * There may be a small additional change for more than two in a suite for the breakfast and managers reception. Check with the hotel. Lincoln is known as a clean, safe, and hospitable place! When Omicron last hosted the International Convention in 1996, those who attended commented how they liked attending our Convention in a little smaller city than normal (population just less than 300,000). They noted how easy it is to get around the city, that the local hosted events were fun, and that the value for the cost was great! As to the events, the local committee has again focused on organizing fun evenings that appeal to all and provide for a venue of camaraderie. As to your travel plans, you should think about booking early and keeping to your schedule. (If you book a hotel room and fail to show up the fi rst night, hotels typically charge you for the first night missed and then they cancel the remaining nights you thought you had booked.) Lincoln’s airport is adequate and just 15 minutes from the Embassy Suites hotel, our “home base” while you’re at the Convention. Better connections and perhaps a little less expensive airfare may be available if you fl y into Omaha (55 minutes away) or Kansas City (about 2½ hours away). However, you may have the additional expense of a rental car and parking. What events are planned?? In addition to the regular meetings, LTI sessions, Grand Chapter forum and meetings, LTI and Phi Alpha Luncheons, the local host committee has fun times in store for the evening events! Wednesday night, enjoy our own private tailgate party and the Lincoln Saltdogs baseball game. Thursday night, join in the fun at the Champions Club, University of Nebraska’s newest alumni center for a (almost) all you can eat buffet featuring Chances “R” pan fried chicken and carved roast beef, together with all the fi xin’s! And, dinner time entertainment (TBA)! Friday night, we’ll meet at the Omicron Chapter house at the Nebraska Wesleyan campus for a Pig Roast and casino night under the “big top” followed by “O” Street night life. Saturday night is the formal Grand Chapter Banquet (black tie optional, coat and tie required) and awards dinner. The local chapter members are themselves planning a big turn out especially for Friday and Saturday! Feel free to contact us at the International Headquarters should you have any questions. We all hope to see you and your family there! From the Omicron 2007 Convention Committee by Andrew J. Benton II, O, ‘78 (abenton2@earthlink.net)
