Epignosis chapter at Alcorn State University receives Mortar Board’s 230th charter “It’s an honor and huge achievement for our students to have the opportunity to join this esteemed Society,” Dr. Thomas Sturgis proclaimed during the March 28 installation of Mortar Board’s 230th chapter at Alcorn State University. National President Susan Herndon Caples, National Foundation President Sally Steadman and National Council Student Representative Brandon Caten were on hand to install the Epignosis chapter and initiate its first members in a ceremony noted by University President M. Christopher Brown II as “another bold step in the right direction” for Alcorn State. John Igwebuike and Lashundia Carson are the senior advisors of the chapter; Dr. Cassandra Vaughn is junior advisor; Dr. Edward Vaughn and Sonia Eley are sophomore advisors; Devina Hogan is community liaison; and Drs.
