OH O’s GOLF 69th Annual Ohio Junior Championship Lancaster CC June 24, 2009 18 year old Nathan Kerns from Iron- ton, Ohio followed his opening round 69 with an even par 72 to claim the 2009 title by 2 shots over the defend- ing champion, Smith Brinker, 16 years old of Cincinnati. Kerns got off to a quick start today with a birdie at the first. He had 2 other birdies and 3 bogeys on the day. Comi ng to the 18th tee Smith had even the tournament with back to back birdies at the 16th and 17th. An errant tee shot that kicked well away from the green caused Smith a double bogey finish and secured the championship for Nathan. In the 15 and under division, Joo- Young Lee, 14 years old from Hilliard fired a second consecutive 73 to claim that title, one that is shared with the likes of Jack Nicklaus. His 146 total held off Michael Bernard, 15 years old of Huber Heights by 1 shot.
